Biography
How it all started
Mr. Weather, formed in the summer of 2014 in Quebec City, Canada, originated from a fortuitous meeting between Thomas Vidal and Gabriel Drolet-Pollock. Embodying values of music, ambition, enthusiasm, passion, and fun, the band has developed a sound deeply rooted in the rock and heavy metal traditions of the legendary bands that shaped their childhood. The name Mr. Weather was inspired by a song titled the same, composed by Thomas Vidal, capturing the essence of their musical journey.
Inspiration
Drawing inspiration from a broad spectrum of iconic bands, including Iron Maiden, Firehouse, Dokken, Steppenwolf, Cream, and Nazareth, Mr. Weather began composing rhythmically rich pieces such as "Between Dreams & Reality", "The Hound", and "Heavy Duty". Their first performance was on March 21, 2015, marking the beginning of a series of shows that saw them perform alongside both local and international acts such as Sonata Arctica, Udo Dirkshneider (ex-Accept), The Agonist, and Hammerfall. They've also been a part of significant events like the 50th and 52nd editions of the Festival d'été de Québec (FEQ) in 2017 and 2019.
OUR ALBUMS
Their first album, "Between Dreams & Reality", released in December 2016, was a testament to their musical prowess and established their presence in the progressive metal scene. Following this, their second album, "Running From Hell", released in 2023, further solidified their standing. This album, spanning approximately 40 minutes, includes tracks like "Wrong Side Of The Gun" "Running From Hell" "Alone" and "Home". Each song in the album showcases the band's evolution in sound and technique, providing listeners with a deeper understanding of their musical identity.
Recognition
Notably, Mr. Weather has gained recognition for opening for world-renowned bands such as Protest the Hero and Anvil. They are appreciated for their professionalism and ability to energize a crowd, enhancing the concert experience. Their dynamic and engaging live performances have made them a staple in the Quebec music scene, known for their versatility and appeal as a live act, solidifying their connection with fans through relentless touring and performances across various cities and venues in the region.
